OVERDUE BOOKS
Once a library book is 15 school days overdue, it is assumed to be lost. Your student might receive a bill for that book. If you get one of these notices and your student has the book, please return the book as soon as possible. Once the book is returned, the debt is erased unless the book is damaged.
If you need to pay for a book, the Library accepts cash and checks made to Drew Intermediate. If you are unable to pay the debt all at once, the Library can accept small payments until the debt is completely resolved.
Students who have lost books that have not been paid for can be kept from participating in school dances and other activities. This can be avoided by encouraging your student to bring his or her book to school everyday and turning it in when they are no longer using it. If a book is not paid for, the book remains on the students record until the matter is taken care of. Even if the school year ends or the student moves up to the next school (like CMS), the book will remain on the student's record.
